SAH Virtual Doula: mydoulacompanion.com

We offer signature services online with the same presence, sensitivity, and compassion as our onsite support, whether you are helping a loved one, preparing for your own transition, or seeking comfort and clarity about the end-of-life journey and how to manage comfort and grief.

The Virtual Presence and Assistance Service offered online by Soul At Heart Doula provides companioning and reassurance through digital connection, ensuring no one has to navigate their journey alone. We offer a compassionate, supportive live (virtual) presence and easy-to-access mentoring, right at your fingertips. Judgment-free support is available via secure video call, phone, text, or email. Anywhere there is connectivity*, the compassionate help and support of a Soul at Heart Doula are accessible when you need them.

Practical and Emotional Support: We offer a variety of resources electronically. We offer one-on-one video calls, video conferencing with multiple participants, and quick text-based reassurances so we can respond to and adapt to your immediate needs. Additionally, we provide fillable documents electronically, such as Advanced Medical Directives, Powers of Attorney, and Will & Testament forms. Once completed, these documents can be sent back to us for online notarization through Remote Online Notarization (RON).

Accessibility: Services are delivered via cellular and internet connections, making support available regardless of physical location, including when changing locations, and reaching those who are traveling, living in rural areas, in areas with limited local resources, and those with mobility challenges.

Portability: Your SAH support meets you where you are. Whether you’re at home, traveling, in a hospice facility, at the hospital, or in a clinical nursing setting, you can maintain your connection to your personalized doula support system and your chosen end-of-life plan, as long as there’s connectivity.

Continuity of Care: At Soul At Heart, we believe that your support should be as mobile as you are. By combining accessibility with portability, we ensure that your care remains uninterrupted, regardless of changes in location, bad weather, or travel obstacles.

Inclusivity: Compassionate support should be barrier-free. SAH provides services on a sliding scale and offers pro bono assistance for those who qualify, ensuring that help is accessible to everyone.

Advance Care Planning
Guidance and resources for living wills, ethical wills, healthcare advance directives, and durable powers of attorney. Once you complete these documents, they can be validated through our online Remote Notary Service (RON).

Life Review Sessions
Life review sessions are gentle, structured conversations led by a compassionate, nonjudgmental doula guide. These sessions help clients reflect on a lifetime of experiences, clarify meaning and messages, gain honest perspective, deepen understanding, foster acceptance, and sometimes create an opportunity to make amends and tie up loose ends. Our clients frequently tell us, “It is a true gift to face final days with an unburdened heart and alleviated regrets.”

Legacy Projects
We support you in writing letters and preparing “Last Words to Loved Ones” in various formats, including letters on your choice of stationery, audio recordings, and video messages. Additionally, we create permanent memorial web pages to honor your loved ones, help you design photo memory books and boards, and transcribe life stories. We also offer assistance with self-authored obituaries, life summaries, and eulogies.

Compassionate Listening
One-on-one sessions where you can share and process your feelings in a judgment-free space. We can provide downloadable pages and worksheets to support processing emotions and grief, journaling, and mindfulness coloring for self-discovery.

Creating Serene Space
Aesthetic space preparation is one of our signature services. By reducing the “sterile and antiseptic” aspects of the environment where a loved one will spend much of their time, we can significantly improve both their outlook and the visitor experience.

Celebrations
We recommend organizing personalized celebrations of life to honor your loved one’s unique legacy. When possible, try to hold these celebrations while they are still with us so that they can experience the love and appreciation of everyone gathered in their honor. We can provide guidance and resources to help you with these arrangements.

Virtual Bedside Presence
A companion for caregivers during vigils or transitions, providing a calming presence for those who may be providing care on their own.

Scheduled Video Calls
Regularly scheduled video calls provide the benefits of consistent connection, swiftly addressing questions, offer reassurance, and deliver companionship. You never have to go it alone.
